After losing my first match to a high-level brown belt and MMA competitor (he won the division), I was up against this guy for third place. I didn't know it at the time, but he is a purple belt who has been competing for years. The challenge here was avoiding his leg attacks. Watching him in his previous match, I saw him go for heel hooks. This was an advanced no-gi division, so everything including heel hooks were allowed! Fortunately, my strategy worked.

A great showing of strategy boy I wish I could find somebody close to my size and fit like me to learn me to grapple like that

Very well done, not only the choke hold but also the side mount and mount positions. So happy to see some real action here

Great performance! It seems as arm triangle comes from nowhere - really good and very technical job, guy was not able to fight back even 10 sec - hold was perfectly settled up, adjusted and executed! VERY well done! Congrats!

Thanks! I was also surprised he tapped so soon. I could have sunk it deeper.

I would say that quick tap is a good indicator that hold was settled up VERY well :)

Good job, you never let him get the upper hand.

Thanks! It wasn't an easy one. He had me in a no-gi Ezekiel choke that almost worked.

He won with my go to submission move. I've had so much success with it that I to use other attacks to broaden my arsenal. Good video.
