Thunderdome VI - 2018 Summer Slam

Event Description

July 13 - July 16. Be there.

Now going into its sixth year, Thunderdome rumbles on. Last summer's Thunderdome V was amazing; this one should be even more so.

Open mat format - no need to schedule your matches in advance, but feel free to if you want. All wrestling styles, sub, pro, promission, subs with strikes, erotic, boxing, even yagi gures and pehlwani. Wrestling venues include, but are not limited to: indoor mats (14x12, 10x10), outdoor (grass and additional mats under tent), and pool. Also, if anyone wants to bring a pro ring that we can set up outside, go for it.

Limited bed space available on a first come, first served basis. Also, unlimited tent camping space on grounds (which is what most of last year's attendees did). And, if you prefer, a list of local hotels will be provided upon request.

Come for a day. Come for two. Come for the whole event. Come for the fun. Sign up here to indicate interest, but please also contact AverageJoe at chuckleheadjoe@gmail.com to confirm interest. Additional details also available at www.thunderdome.boston. This is gonna be a blast. Let's rumble

I will try to put this into words that reflect how great this event was. This was a well organized and inviting event. Joe and Ellie open their home (Estate) for us. Plenty of mats were on hand so no one had to wait if they wanted a match. Everyone meshed well together and enjoyed the company of of others that shared the love of wrestling. Wrestling is what joined us but everyone came with their own life story and backgrounds that made conversation go into many directions. The grounds were large enough for 4 times the attendees to pitch tents. The in ground swimming pool was open and was utilized my many as a way to cool down. Live music was played on 2 nights. The last was setting around the fire. Food and drinks were in abundance as participants pitch in with a variety if offerings. I hope to be allowed to prepare a meal for next years event. I plan to car pool with one or two to next years event if god willing.
Thanks to Joe and Ellie for organizing this event and being such great host.

What a wonderful time was had at this great event. The truth is this event is many things to many people. But for certain it goes beyond wrestling . It’s a very complete experience which happens to have wrestling as unifying factor. As much as the great gracious host Joe, would like to not admit it. His event has filled the void left by the HILLSIDE wrestling weekend! Joe has at his “compound” everything!....in Spades!...GREAT WRESTLING FACILITIES: varied, confortable, clean and safe. GREAT LODGING AREAS, wether it be the few spaces at the main house, of which I’ll ALWAYS book MONTHS in advance...to one of the most SPECTACULAR privately owned lawns and forest ideal for those who like camping but in secured areas. The refreshing and relaxing pthalo blue pool, one of the favorite attractions of the venue is yet another contributing factor.
But most Inportant the HOSTS themselves: Joe and his WONDERFULY KIND AND ACEPTING wife ELLIE! There is simply no one cooler or warmer than her and along with Joe make up for this magnificent dynamic duo who out of the kindness of their hearts , and the selflessness of their wallets ,open the doors of their very home wide to put up this MASSIVE 2 person show for us to enjoy!....

...and on top of that , excellent food throughout and drinks of all kinds plus entertainment ; this time around , in the form of an hour plus long piano concerto by one of the wrestling attendees! I did put a little something in Joe’s very discreet and incidental donations jar! Me along pretty much everybody that went because I am certain that no matter the quantity big or small , that we put in, we knew we were taking much much more than what we put in.

To me in particular this event is about. FRIENDSHIP and CAMARADERIE. Because of that and in my third year attending, it has become my official summer trip. A chance to see a very specific crop of friends you get to see only here. This year it also gave me the chance to correct personal mistakes and make amends, and as a result making a new friend I thought irreparably lost!...so

Add up

WRESTLING + FRIENDS+GREAT FACILITIES, INDOOR, OUTDOORS , POOL, FOOD , DRINKS, ENTERTAINMENT and yes wrestling related SEX...if you are lucky!...how much is that worth???
I’ll tell you how much
However much we can give Joe and Ellie and also help to make the event even greater for next year!...
See you all NEXT YEAR
Thanks for the matches, the lessons, the trunks...but most importantly the JOY it was to see and have a great time with you all

And Joe and Ellie, you know where you stand in my heart

So let’s start the countdown

THUNDERDOME VII
T-364 days!

I agree with Ricote Wrestler and Technics2. We could catch up with old friends and make new ones. New England has some talented, big, strong wrestlers. and the Pacific Northwest, Canada, Washington DC, NYC, Ohio,Michigan, Texas, Chicago, Georgia, western Pa, Tennessee, were all represented. I am sure I left out a few places. This was a wonderful weekend.

OK, my turn. I want to say thank you to the 50 plus guys who showed up to make T-dome a really special weekend. Each of you brought something unique and special to the event, and it wouldn't have been the same without each and every one of you there. I am really honored by the amoint of interest and enthusiasm. And am totally psyched about how much fun every one had, and how much awesome wrestling took place.
A special shout out to: Yonkers, Hashbock, Bull, BigGuy, VocalJock, Gansettbear, Bull and Benjie, for sticking around and seeing breakdown through to the very end. It is the extra effort from guys like you that make events like this so workable.
There will be a Thunderdome VIi, on almost the exact same four days next year. So start planning accordingly, and letting your wrestling buds know how much fun you had.
You guys rock. Thanks to all for being there.
Joe
